After we landed in Sumter Oaks in October, Connie and I started talking about buying a small house where she could "land". I'll give her credit for a valiant effort in full-timing, but she just really needs to have a home base to go back to.
We looked on a number of occasions (mostly Connie) and when she found a few places to look at, we drove from Bushnell to Ocala ( about 45 min.) and checked them out.
You already saw the pictures of the house, but now I'll tell you a little about it and where we really are.
It's a two bedroom, two bath double wide mobile home. The second bdrm is being used as my "office" and is where I spend most of my time in the house. The master bedroom and one bath occupy the entire width of the building in the back end. It's huge, and has a walk-in closet that can actually hold all of our hanging clothes.
The house is located in a 55+ community, (no snickering allowed) called Saddle Oak Club and is located about 2 miles from I-75 in Ocala, FL.
In our shopping trips we had actually seen a couple of double-wides that we liked better, but the communities they were in didn't seem to be as well maintained, and we kept coming back to Saddle Oak Club.
The day we made our decision, we actually checked out another house in another community (2nd choice) and then came back here to sign on the dotted line.
Needless to say, Connie is a LOT happier about having a house than I am, but we have figured out a way that we, hopefully, will still be able to travel for a number of months and then can park IDK for most of the winter. Basically we'll be reverse snowbirds.
As I'm writing this, I know we are going to be going to the Escapade in Sedalia,MO in mid May. (last year was Gillette,Wyoming) We will again be working on the parking crew and are both really looking forward to it.
Shortly after we moved into the house, we invited our Escapee's Class of 07 members to come from Bushnell for Lasagna . We had everybody bring chairs, cuz we didn't have enough places to sit. It was really a nice RV "fix" for us and we had a ball.
Check out the size of the lasagna pan Connie made. I don't think she's made one
that big before, and probably won't again, but as usual it was excellent.
A couple of weeks later, we met Joe and Marcia, and Bob and Molly at a local "biker bar" called sleepy Hollow. We went there cuz Molly & Bob had been there with some people from their park. The food was the reason, and it was well worth the time to get there (about an hour for us). They have a NY Strip Steak meal with baked potato and sweet corn for $5. I expect this will be a place we will go back to in the future.

While at Sleepy Hollow, we found out that they also have air-boat rides available, so......
Connie, Joe and Marcia had an air-boat ride for about 45 minutes. Bob, Molly and I just hung around chatting and listening to the live entertainment while they were gone.
When they got back, there were hugs all around, and we all went our separate ways, but I'll never forget the grins on all their faces when they did that ride. That's all for now, more in a day or two.

Congrats on the new "digs"! My parents lived in a very similar double-wide near Venice, FL for about 25 years. They loved it and really enjoyed the life there. Good to know you still plan to get on the road for at least part of the year!
BOUT TIME!!!
I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I'm so glad you updated. This way we will be able to keep up with you two. We love and miss you. See you at Escapade.
